Protect, conserve and restore

The State Secretariat for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) is the first hierarchical level of Rio de Janeiro's state administration, and is responsible for the coordination of the state environmental policy.

The main executing arm of this policy is the State Environmental Institute (INEA), which has the mission to protect, conserve and recover the state's environmental heritage, in favor of sustainability. It is a reference environmental management agency that plays a strategic role in the development of the state, with a highly qualified staff.
